Summit Oaks Hospital is dedicated to providing quality mental health care services to your child or teen in a safe, nurturing environment. Our child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric program is led by Michelle Thorpe, MD, and provides comprehensive treatment and stabilization services.
Mental Health Treatment For Teens — Ages 13–17
This program helps adolescents who are suffering from mental health problems and are in crisis. We provide help to those at risk, and need to be supported with 24-hour clinical supervision. Our goal is to provide a safe place where problems are identified, solutions are explored and skills are developed. The program is designed to stabilize, support and encourage the patient with a goal of a successful discharge. We provide assistance in managing symptoms working towards recovery.
Mental Health Treatment For Children — Ages 5–12
This program is designed to evaluate and stabilize children with psychiatric disorders, emerging destructive behaviors and those who are crisis and need help. We provide a safe and consistent environment with 24-hour clinical supervision to meet the needs of children.
For children and teens, we offer:

- School and therapeutic group activities
- On-unit school program
- Pet, art, yoga and other recreational therapies
- Case management
